I almost threw this song away. I wrote it many years ago, at a time when I was in a very vulnerable place. It sat on my hard drive for many years, and when I finally went back through my material, I saw the title and reflexively sent it to the trash bin. Fortunately, there was a rough MP3 of it waiting in ambush. As soon as I heard it, I realized what a gem it was and rescued it from its cyber fate. It is truly one of the most beautifully raw tunes that I have ever written. Listening to the first production sketches was a very emotional experience for me, because after all of those years, Take Me was coming to life exactly how I had envisioned it to sound and feel. I know that I can’t be the only person to have ever felt this way, and I hope that Take Me finds anyone who has ever felt vulnerable, invisible, or alone.
