Hello, Daddy I like our new home but living without you is hard
There’s a horsey in the pasture right behind our own backyard
We fight a lot and Mom gets mad
I caught a lizard but its tail fell off - I felt so bad
Thank you for the letter, I’m so happy that you wrote                 
And to know that there’s three-hundred-twenty-four more days to go

Hello, Daddy I like splashing around in the ditch when it rains
There’s armadillos on the golf course and I miss you every day
There’s locust skins on all the trees
And I didn’t cry when I fell down and skinned my knees

Well it’s hot and sticky here in Louisiana 
And there’s lots of little snakes outside
I hear the frogs and crickets singing
Through my bedroom window every night
And when I    look at your Polaroid, I cry myself to sleep

I had a Pooh-Bear birthday party and Tutu came to play
